Location and how to get here
The Studio Benad facilities are located new the city centre in Munich-Haidhausen (French quarters, as its called), in close proximity to the Ostbahnhof train station. The German Museum, the Philharmonica, Maximilian street and Isarauen are within walking distance. You only have to travel 4 stops by tram to get to Marien place, and the idyllic Tramline 19 goes straight across Maximilian street into the city centre. With Bus no.100, the so called Museum-line, you can get from Ostbahnhof to the most important museums within a few minutes (Haus der Kunst, Pinakotheken and more).
All Munich tramlines stop at the Ostbahnhof (S1 to S8). Additionally, the subway lines U4, U5, the tramlines 19 (Pasing) as well as 15 and 25 (Grünwald), the Deutsche Bahn and a multitude of buses. (Information on schedules can be found at http://www.mvv-muenchen.de
Take the central exit at Ostbahnhof towards Orleansplatz (Bus station, Tram stop). Wörthstreet goes vertically towards the Orleansplatz and Wörthstreet. Just walk 100m straight ahead, to get to Bordeaxplatz. At the centre of the place (near the fountain), on the left side of the street, you will find studio Benad.
Arrival by National Rail
Not all trains going to Munich stop at Ostbahnhof. However, all Munich Tramlines go between Central Station and Ostbahnhof. From Central Station, take the tram going to Stachus/Marienplatz/Ostbahnhof. The trams go every 2-3 minutes. The journey is over 5 stations, taking approx. 8 minutes.
From the airport, the quickest way to Ostbahnhof, is the line S8 (journey time approx. 30 mins). You can also take the S1 which goes around the west part of the city and then goes via the inner city towards Ostbahnhof. As a single person you should get a so called “streifenkarte” (type of ticket), with 10 Streifen, 8 of which you have to stamp. A taxi usually takes longer than a tram.
