1st day: Concrete and Sandstone

2nd day: Natural stone walls and black marble

The drywall that is to be painted in the seminar, comes alive through the interesting composition of forms under the play of light and dark in their relief. Depending on the painting technique such walls can seem both elegant and rustic. They are not only suited to depict architecture in the context of illusion painting, but also for designing whole inside walls.
Black Marble (Nero Marqina), is glazed in several layers, is especially interesting. Both the principle black glazing on a coloured primer as well as the relaxed flow and the tense arrangement of the bright veins on the black base.

3rd day: Marble painting with acrylic colours

The third day will provide an overview over the characteristic structure of the marble and and it will introduce kinds of marble that are typically found in marble painting. We will explain basic principles of marble painting and show you classic techniques that can also be applied to other kinds of marble. For the Nero Marqina, with its characteristic white veins standing out from the surface, we will add three dimensionality. For the yellow sienna  marble we will create a basic multilayered primer and eventually paint the veins with both paintbrushes and, also, feathers!

It may be the case due to the limited time, that we can only paint a few kinds of marble, but not all of them.
All material and tools will be provided in good quality and quantity.
It is not necessary to bring your own tools, we do however recommend bringing an apron or something of the kind.
