Mural Painting

- transforms walls, creates a wide open space
- takes you from the mundane into your own imagination
- raises aesthetical awareness

Costs

The price of trompe-l´oeil painting is calculated from its dimensions and the intricacy of the painting. A picture viewed from a long distance requires less details as one which is shown more closely and at eyelevel. An order for the complete painting on a huge wall surface can be carried out at a more economic price per square meter than a smaller and more detailed painting. According to this Atelier Benad offers mural paintings from 350,- € up to 900,- € per sqm.

It is not possible to give a price over the telephone that is more detailed than the price range quoted above. The estimate depends on the special requirements of our customers and the complexity of work in the particular case.

If for example a very complex perspective in an architectural painting is required it may extend beyond the given price range. On the other hand, if a simple painting of the sky is required, without relief work and with a more limited range of colours, the price may possibly be less than 350,- €/sqm.

For commissions within Munich and neighbouring areas travel costs fall between 20,- € and 80,- € per day. For distances outside this, individual agreements are arranged, in which we share some of the costs for travelling. For greater distances  accomodation costs must be included.

The price of the design is approximately 10% of the work of the actual painting.
It can vary according to the size of the project.

Price comparison

When comparing estimates a potential buyer has to compare the special features that actually will be carried out as well as the quality. Without having seen an original sample of work it may not be helpful to compare square meter prices in order to obtain a bargain. For example, what is the use of a 250,- €/sqm painting, if it is well-intentioned but of poor quality and does not meet the expectations of the client?
As troubleshooters we have been called more than once to revise or replace paintings of other artists, including newly-made large scale murals. We never leave a building site without the absolute consent of our client.
