Workshop description
During the 6-day workshop a lot of hints and instructions are given to persons who will learn more about planning and painting trompe-l´œil murals. The experienced professional guidance of Ursula Benad helps you to avoid typical design errors, to improve your painting technique and to achieve fascinating spatial creations. She demonstrates what good murals depend on. Based on a perspec-tive grid central picture elements will be constructed. Proven transferring techniques help you to realize your painting on canvas. You will paint a sea view seen from a raised patio, with a drapery in the foreground, umbrella acacia and a series of columns. Ursula Benad supports you in each phase of the painting process.
All materials and tools are provided on the course. You are not required to bring any tools with you. It is recommended that you bring light work clothing (overall, apron) to protect you from any paint spray.
After finishing the picture the canvas is detached from the stretcher frame and can be taken home on a roll (length approx. 1.4 m, diameter approxc. 10 cm)

Qualifications required
Participants should have basic skills in sketching or painting and blending colours, and should have visited at least one Atelier Benad workshop (e.g. "Sky and sea").
To permit a systematic training the exact composition of the painting is given by Ursula Benad. She has prepared all motifs required and provides various samples that can be used as patterns. You don´t have to design an individual composition. Attenders without trained skills in drawing and sketching can attain formidable effects; more trained persons will achieve refined results.
