Workshop description
In murals sky often covers large areas and contributes decisively to the atmosphere of a painting. Painted sky makes a room appear much larger than it actually is. In addition sky and sea are very popular as motifs in swimming pools, gyms and bathrooms. Even if not exceptionally gifted you can achieve impressive effects.
Ursula Benad shows you how to create space by using clever painting techniques, that generate a compelling impression of sky and sea. Each student constructs an approx. 1.8 sqm canvas painting showing a seascape with surging billows near the beach and various clouds drifting in the sky.
After finishing the picture, the canvas is detached from the stretcher frame and can be taken home on a roll (length approx. 1.1 m, diameter approx. 10 cm)
All materials and tools are provided on the course. You are not required to bring any tools with you. It is recommended that you bring light work clothing (overalls, aprons) to protect you from any paint spray.
