Workshop description
Painted draperies are indispensable in many trompe-l´œil painting. As foreground elements they frame landscapes, float around windows or decorate walls. They display fleeciness and can be painted in any required colour.
The samples of the workshop mirror two different styles and painting techniques:
- A softly flowing curtain (70 cm x 100 cm) is first undercoated with coloured crayon, then given a 3-dimensional shape with acrylic paint
- A transparent cloth on dark background arises by painting severel layers of glaze one upon the other (60 cm x 60 cm)
- If there is time left we may start working on an upholstered wall with cords and tassels.
All materials and tools are provided on the course. You are not required to bring any tools with you. It is recommended that you bring light work clothing (overalls, aprons) to protect you from any paint spray.

Qualifications required
The workshop „Drapery" introduces you in clever painting techniques to work out formidable re-sults without being exceptionally gifted. Although no special qualifications are required, it is pref-erable if you are experienced in blending colours and painting with acrylics. By attending this re-sult-oriented workshop you create samples that may be used as an excellent reference for your skills.
