Purpose of the academy
The academy will appeal to people with artistic ability who are able to learn and work independ-ently. The intensive work of the academy teaches practical and artistic skills to a professional level.
The Diploma is not state approved; an academic title will not be acquired.
Success
Our primary concern is the success of our students. What one can produce artistically depends, not just on the artist´s skills, but on his resources. Therefore the students will be shown how they can present and market their work. They learn how they can helpfully respond to the customer with a full understanding of the costs of different techniques and resources. The training will help de-velop, not only artistic skills, but also the business aspects of meeting customers´ wishes.
Advantages of the studies at the academy
1. Development of skills: those who work for two years continually and intensively on a subject, supervised by experienced specialists, will develop skills which are unobtainable simply from oc-casional visits to seminars.
2. Reduced entrance fees: participants who subscribe to the academy (as a complete package) re-ceive 15% reduction of the price of the separate workshops. The study days are essential for the success of the learning programme and deepen and anchor the contents. They are of particularly good value within this course and compare very favourably with the workshop days.
3. The Diploma: Ursula and Martin Benad enjoy an outstanding reputation as colour designers, mural artists and as specialist authors in the subject (4 of their 11 books have been translated into English, others are in preparation). Their seminars are of high subject and educational quality.
The Diploma ensures that the participants reach a high standard in their work.
The academy is not a recognized state institution and does not offer a general elementary educa-tion, as for example an academic high school education for artists. It is not able to offer a recog-nized professional qualification, but it serves to provide deeper and more specialized personal skills.
